Larry and Autumn Ross

Picture
Larry Ross is Founder and CEO of A. Larry Ross Communications, a full-service agency he founded in 1994 to provide crossover media liaison emanating from or targeted to the Christian market. He has nearly 49 years’ experience in mainstream and Christian public relations, providing senior strategic PR counsel at both agency and corporate levels to help individuals and organizations influence public opinion through the power of story. In 2016, he served as Communications Director for Dr. Ben Carson and his presidential campaign.

Ross has diverse experience in all forms of promotion and communications, including extensive spokesperson training, crisis communications, corporate positioning and issues management. He has developed national and international images for worldwide organizations, in some cases serving as primary corporate media representative.

Following several years in the late 1970s as field spokesman for the General Motors Corporation, Ross has been involved with various public relations firms in New York, Philadelphia and Dallas. While in New York, his focus was media liaison with business press, including investor relations and financial public relations for the nation’s second-largest savings bank.

After several years handling media positioning for baseball great Joe DiMaggio, Ross served for nearly 34 years as principal spokesperson for evangelist Billy Graham, beginning in 1981. His mission is to “restore faith in media,” by providing “value-added P.R. that defines values” and gives Christian messages relevance and meaning in mainstream media.

Newsweek magazine headlined Ross as “Point Man for God” and a New York Times Magazine personal profile feature quoted him as saying his job is “...to find the sweet spot where faith and culture intersect.” His work has included consultation and ongoing representation for men and women on a mission for God or the common good, including many of the world’s most influential Christian leaders, such as Dr. Rick Warren and Bishop T.D. Jakes; Christian ministries; churches; and national theatrical
film releases, including “The Passion of The Christ.”

Throughout his career spanning more than four decades, Ross has represented clients advancing the national conversation by addressing numerous political, economic, social and spiritual issues. He spearheaded media relations for the 2009 Saddleback Civil Forum on The Presidency with presumed presidential nominees Senator John McCain and then-Senator Barack Obama, which was attended by more than 530 media representatives and garnered worldwide coverage.

Ross has also established press operations for live events in most major U.S. cities and scores of foreign countries, including four global conferences and international satellite uplink events covered by media from more than 185 countries and territories.

A graduate of Wheaton College in Illinois, Ross and his wife Autumn have three sons, three daughtersin-law and five grandchildren, and live in Lewisville, Texas. You can follow him on Twitter at @ALarryRoss.

Autumn Ross is Executive Vice President of A. Larry Ross Communications, which she co-founded with her husband in 1994. After raising her three sons, in addition to The Saltire House, Autumn also serves on the boards of Amazon Outreach and Cornerstone Lodge, a counseling service to individuals in full-time ministry.

Autumn is also active in women's ministry as a Bible teacher and has long-served her church in leading worship and drama. But her passion for the past 12 years has been climbing mountains all over the world, including Base Camp of Mount Everest, Mt. Kilimanjaro (twice), a hundred-mile trek across the Swiss Alps and a 410 mile Camino pilgrimage across Portugal into Spain to raise money and awareness for fighting sex and human trafficking through The Freedom Challenge.

A graduate of Baylor University with a B.A. in Communications, Autumn is natively fluent in Portuguese, after spending her formative years on the mission field in England and Brazil.  She and her husband Larry have three sons, three daughters-in-law, five grandchildren and live in Lewisville, Texas.
