Why Saltire?
Beyond it being the name of the flag of Scotland and also representing the cross on which the apostle Andrew was martyred, Saltire House is a place in St. Andrews, internationally acknowledged as the home of golf.
Why St .Andrews?
In short, St. Andrews represents the Golfer's Jerusalem, the epicenter of over 100 million golfers. Golfers of all ability visit this city for a lifetime pilgrimage where the game originated. Our team sees a strategic need to establish a base, an embassy, in St. Andrews to help fulfill the original mission the disciple Andrew began some 2000 years ago;"This gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." (Matt 24:14 ESV)
Why a Saltire House?
The primary need is for presence. Create a house of hospitality where golf pilgrims are welcome. A destination where they can understand the roots of the game and gain an appreciation for the forefathers of golf played in St. Andrews since 1552.
Another important need in the fast-growing world of golf is a moral compass. A place to recalibrate. A place of peace. A place to find friendships with golfers from other places in the world.

What are the Saltire House Objectives?
- Be a Home away from Home: Invite guests to be part of a worldwide family with those who love golf and God. Create a welcoming environment where anyone would feel love and acceptance.
- Develop a School of Discipleship: Train trainers of the next generation in the teachings of Jesus. Upon graduation, commission each student to return to their country with a written plan on how to connect the golf community with Jesus. “Go therefore and disciple all nations.” MT 28:19. And most importantly, care for the poor and marginalized. “Whatever you did for the least of these…you did…for Me.” MT 25:40
- Be a Place of Refuge: A safe space. A community where golf pilgrims will enter and feel the peace of God and, through the presence of the Holy Spirit, experience the unconditional love of Jesus.
- Advance the Kingdom to over 200 Countries where golf is played: Our dream is to look back decades at the waves of golfers whose lives were changed at Saltire House. Young and old, men and women, who have returned to their homes and impacted not only their golf community but other spheres of influence, including leaders in business, the arts, media, and government.
